A practical example
A fictional bicycle workshop could print “Ask about a repair slot” beside a code. Its prepared text might say “Hi, I have a question about a bike repair,” without pretending a booking has been made.
Make the scan useful
Use a number that can receive WhatsApp messages, including the correct country code. Keep any prepared text short enough for a person to edit before sending.
- Enter the WhatsApp number and optional starting message.
- Save the code and scan it on a phone.
- Tap the action and check the conversation opens with the intended number.
What to check before sharing
WhatsApp availability, sign-in and device settings affect what opens. The scan does not send a message, reserve a slot or prove the visitor contacted you.
Will scanning send the WhatsApp message?
No. The scan opens a QRTech action page. The visitor taps through to WhatsApp and confirms the message there.
Can I use it without WhatsApp installed?
The result depends on the visitor’s device and WhatsApp access. Keep a visible phone number or another contact route where it matters.
