Make the short question simple.

SMS is useful for a brief request when your audience already has your number nearby. Scanning opens a QRTech contact-action page, then a tap opens a text draft in a supported messaging app. The visitor confirms the send.

Illustration of mobile link sharing

A practical example

A fictional community garden could print “Text us about Saturday’s volunteer session” and prepare a short question. The visitor can add their name and preferred time before sending.

Make the scan useful

Enter a reachable number with its country code. Tell people what the number is for, and remember that their mobile operator may charge for texts.

  1. Enter the recipient number and optional message.
  2. Save the code and test it from a second phone.
  3. Tap the SMS action and verify the number and draft text.

What to check before sharing

Phone software handles SMS links differently. The visitor may need to choose a messaging app, and a scan does not prove a text was sent or received.

Does scanning text the number immediately?

No. A QRTech action page opens first. After the visitor taps, their messaging app prepares the text for their confirmation.

Can I collect replies in QRTech?

Replies go to the recipient number through the visitor’s messaging service, not into a QRTech form inbox.
