A practical example
A fictional ceramicist named Noor could share her studio name, work email and a short note about custom commissions. After a fair, someone could scan her printed card and choose to save those details.
Make the scan useful
Include only information you want visitors to keep or forward. Use a clear role or context so the saved contact is recognizable months later.
- Enter your name, role and intended public contact fields.
- Preview the page and test its vCard on a phone.
- Print a card with your name and a readable fallback link.
What to check before sharing
The visitor decides whether to save the vCard. A contact already saved in someone’s address book will not automatically update when you edit your hosted page.
Will a scan add me to someone’s contacts?
No. The visitor opens the page and may choose to download and import the vCard in a compatible contacts app.
Can I change my details later?
You can update the hosted page. People who saved an earlier vCard may still have the older information in their own contacts.
