Free Wi-Fi QR code: guests join with one scan

Make a QR code for your Wi-Fi in seconds. Guests point their phone camera at it and join your network. Nobody needs to spell out a long password. The network details are inside the code, so it works even without internet. Print it on a table card, a menu or the wall.

Wi-Fi

Opening your QR…

Free for up to 10 codes and pages. No card.

Free QR codes stay free and never expire. The free plan keeps up to 10 codes and pages.

How to make it

  1. Enter your network details. Type the network name, the password and the security type (WPA/WPA2, WEP or open). Tick Hidden network if yours is hidden.
  2. Design it. Choose colours and a shape. Add your logo if you want.
  3. Save it free and download it. Create a free account. Then download PNG or SVG. Use SVG for print.

Good to know: A Wi-Fi QR code holds your network name and password inside the code. If you change the password, make a new code and print it again. Scans of a Wi-Fi code are not counted, because the phone joins the network directly.

Why make it with QRTech

Example

A café in Pune puts a small Wi-Fi card on every table. Guests scan it and join the guest network. The owner changes the guest password every month. On that day she makes a new code and prints new cards.

Questions

What happens if I change my Wi-Fi password?

Make a new Wi-Fi QR code and print it again. The password is stored inside the code, so the old code will not work with the new password.

Does every phone join automatically?

Most phones offer to join from the camera app. It depends on the phone and its software. Test your printed code with a few different phones.

Is it safe to share my Wi-Fi this way?

Anyone who scans the code can join. Put it only where your guests can see it, and use a guest network, not the network for your office or home.

What is free, and what is Premium?

Wi-Fi QR codes are free. The free plan gives you up to 10 pages and codes and QR design. There is no time limit. Premium adds menus, forms, link lists, audio, Poster Studio and up to 50 pages and codes. Every new account gets 3 months of Premium free. No card. No automatic charge. After that, Premium is $6 a month, only if you choose it. When the free months end, up to 10 pages and codes that qualify for Free stay live: your oldest eligible ones, or the eligible ones you choose. Extra pages and codes and content that requires Premium, including password-protected pages, are paused. Printed Wi-Fi codes keep working because the network details are stored inside the code. You can bring them back within 90 days by subscribing.

Stop reading the password out loud.
